The Fermod 521 coldroom fastener kit provides a reliable and hygienic solution for rebated or overlapping coldroom doors. Designed for smooth operation, the composite handle delivers long-term durability and corrosion resistance, ideal for commercial cold storage environments.
Each kit includes external and internal handles, the selected strike and 17 mm spacers (where applicable), and three keys. This assembly suits most Foster Coldstore doors and is fully compatible with existing Fermod systems.

Replacing your Fermod door handle
- Remove the green cap and unscrew the internal handle fixings.
- Detach the push rod and undo the rear 17 mm nut to release the outer handle.
- Fit the new assembly in reverse order, ensuring the strike aligns for a tight seal.
Coldroom door offset – what does it mean?
The door offset is the measurement from the door frame to the outer face of the door when it’s in the closed position. Selecting the correct offset ensures the handle aligns properly and the seal compresses evenly for a tight, reliable seal.
