How to Fit a Fermod 67 Coldroom Door Gasket
A step-by-step guide to fitting the Fermod 67 gasket on a hinged coldroom door - including corner cuts, retaining strip fitting, and what to check before you start.
The Fermod 67 is one of the most popular gaskets for hinged coldroom doors - easy to retrofit, available in cut lengths, and suitable for temperatures down to -45°C.
Why choose the Fermod 67?
We stock the Fermod 67 in long rolls, cut to your required length. This makes it ideal for re-gasketing a single door without ordering a full roll. The black EPDM material performs reliably in both chiller and freezer environments.
Before you start
Check these two things before fitting:
- The gasket is 40mm wide and 19mm deep - measure your existing gasket depth to confirm it's compatible
- You may need to adjust your hinges after fitting to ensure the door seal pulls tightly against the door frame and that the door is not hinge-bound
Step-by-step fitting guide
- Remove the old gasket from the door frame completely
- Fix the new gasket to the door edges using the pre-drilled retaining strip
- At each corner cut away 40mm of the inner section of rubber leaving the middle intact - this allows the gasket to fit snugly into the rebate
- Cut the top piece square and slot into the rebate. Use the ends of the retaining strip to secure in place
- Repeat at the bottom if fitting a four-sided gasket
